ABOUT MY WELL MIND

Hello and welcome!

 

My name is Lisa and I'm thrilled you've decided to visit my new site My Well Mind!  This is something I have been working towards for years, my true passion.  A deep desire to share the benefits of mindfulness, positive psychology, nature and yoga with you to improve your overall wellbeing - mental, emotional, physical and spiritual (if that moves you).  And more then that, my true aspiration is that by working together to build more acceptance, love and joy for and within our own lives, we will also build love, joy and acceptance for others and the planet.  We will come to understand that we are all in this together, that we all wish to be happy, and that we can rejoice in the happiness and health of others and our world as well as our own.  Maybe it sounds utopian, but you know what, I'm okay with that!. :)  What's wrong with hoping for the best after all? 

 

In the meantime, we are learning to be okay with things as they are in the present, including with ourselves.  We are building resilience, and learning a new and profound way of being with the stress and chaos of our lives (and the bigger picture chaos happening in the global sphere) and finding courage and inspiration, gratitude, kindness and generosity.  Wow - right?

 

 My background is varied, it has been a journey for sure, and I feel like it will be a lifelong one, one that I am grateful for as it has led me here.  My academic background is in the environmental sciences as well as teaching.  And I am also a trained Positive Psychology and Wellbeing Coach, Yoga Teacher and Mindfulness Teacher.  If you find it beneficial/reassuring, I've listed all of my credentials on the 'About' page. 

 

I am genuinely excited to offer a variety of mindfulness, mindful movement (yoga), coaching and nature connection (ecotherapy) experiences to individuals and groups in online and in-person formats, pre-packaged or customized.  I hope to share what I've learned with you and learn and rejoice with you!

Improving wellbeing is more than just a fitness decision, it’s a lifestyle commitment. My courses and sessions provide an excellent opportunity to exercise your body and mind, but they’re also places to cultivate and strengthen your connection to the natural world, and to heal yourself and the planet through this deeper connection.  And you will also meet and share your experience and love of nature with other engaged and open-minded individuals. ECOTHERAPY WALKS

Mind and Body in Nature

Focus on the present moment and the experience of immersing yourself in the healing power of nature.  Move through natural setting with a newfound awareness of both your body and mind, as well as with the keen awareness of nature's rhythm.  These are half day sessions held in urban natural settings as well as natural areas outside the city limits.  We move at a gentle pace, taking our time to absorb our surroundings, engage our senses and heal ourselves.  Book a session with friends or colleagues, or join one of our organized outings.

Controlled Concentration

Yoga and Mindfulness Course is based on the belief that mental and physical health are interrelated, and should be conditioned together. Yoga Philosophy Course classes at With Nature in Mind attempt to coordinate breathing and physical movement, improve focus and concentration, and help participants regain control of their body and mind.

MINDFULNESS, YOGA AND NATURE INTENSIVE

Strength & Healing

Mindfulness, Yoga and Nature Intensive immerses participants in a host of mindfulness, yoga and outdoor experiences focused on building mental, physical and emotional strength and flexibility, compassion and empathy, while providing stress management techniques.  One key component of the intensive is to develop the skills of non-violence and altruism through engagement in community stewardship, ecological restoration or social equity projects.  This program includes one weekend and one evening gathering weekly over the course of a one month period.  Details and upcoming dates coming soon.

Helping Kids and Teens Improve resilience to Stress and Anxiety and re-connect with nature

Scientific studies have repeatedly shown that children and teens are more stressed and anxious now then ever before, and that spending time in natural outdoor settings has immense beneficial impacts on mental health, stress, focus, sense of identify, etc.  Bring Lisa into your classroom or youth group to run nature based stress reduction clinics designed especially witht he younger generation in mind.
